All modelers are welcome to submit photographs for the NGMRSC calendar and receive NGMRSC vouchers. No purchase necessary. Purchase history has no bearing on selection.
Photographs can depict a layout, rolling stock, structures, scenery, or any other aspect of railway modelling.
Reward for photos accepted for consideration: NGMRSC voucher worth $10 CAD. Limit: one reward per participant per month.Vouchers are issued as digital discount codes redeemable at ngmrsc.ca. They may be used individually or combined within a single order.
Photo requirements
- Photos must depict a narrow-gauge model or layout.
- The model or layout should be largely the participant's property or work. If others are involved participants must have the right to publish the photo.
- The photo should be the participant's own original work, free of copyright and usage restrictions.
- Photos should be a minimum of 3000 pixels on the longer edge (suitable for A4 or letter format printing at 300 dpi).
NGMRSC may crop or adjust selected photographs for layout and print purposes.
How to submit
- Participants should prepare image .JPG or .PNG files with at least 3000 pixels on the longer edge.
- Participants should submit photos and information via email to tom@ngmrsc.ca or email a link to the stored photo.
- Participants should include in the email:
- Modeler's or layout owner’s name, or model manufacturer's name
- Model or layout name
- Scale and gauge

One or two descriptive sentences of interest to viewers
Judging and timeline
Photographs are judged by NGMRSC based on suitability and photographic/modelling merit. Submissions may be archived for use in any month.
- Monthly selections will announced at publication one month prior to each calendar month
- Best of 2026 will be announced after a public online vote held in January 2027
Rights and permissions
- By submitting, participants confirm they are the rightful copyright holders.
- Participants grant NGMRSC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, and publish the photograph (with suitable credit) in any form for promotional purposes, including the calendar.
- Participants retain full ownership and copyright.
- NGMRSC may publicize photographs and participants’ identities with appropriate credit.
All decisions of NGMRSC are final.
Questions and answers
Can I enter every month?
Yes. Rewards for photos accepted for consideration are limited to one per participant per month, but participants may submit as often as they like.
Can I combine vouchers?
Yes. Participants can apply multiple voucher codes to the same order.
Will my photo be edited?
NGMRSC may crop and make standard adjustments (such as exposure and colour balance) to fit the calendar layout while preserving the original intent.
What formats do you accept?
.JPG or .PNG files are preferred.
